Which MALAY LANGUAGE should I learn?

People say it is easier to learn Bahasa Indonesia than Malay. BI is simple and practical... Malay is ok but o lot of words are connecting to english so it sounds strange to indonesian learners. For me, malay grammer is very english grammar, doesn't have its own. Like ABC, indonesia has its own but malaysia doesn't....
