Are there crocodiles in the Ganges? Have attacks been reported? How far upriver have they been spotted?

I have been in Varanasi many times, now a days the water level has gone down, I used visit varanasi every year with my family when I was small, those days the water level used to be all the way up to the 2nd,3rd stairs. And never heard of crocodile attacks.
