What ideas do you have to save birds and fish before the oil reaches them in the Gulf of Mexico?

For example, should the coast guard or fishermen drag nets underwater from boats or ships to chase the fish away from the approaching oil to clean water where the oil will not go. Should whoever go out there in boats or ships and shoot guns into the air to have birds fly away from the approaching oil? What ideas do you have and what works? What about the clams, oysters, and sea turtles?
